Undergraduate students may have the option to undertake a dual degree program allowing them to graduate with two bachelor degrees at once but in a shorter period of time. Students that are interested in pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at UQ have the option of fast-tracking their career by completing an undergraduate Honours degree.
The UQ Advantage will provide you with opportunities, choices and support that will enable you to achieve your individual aspirations, to become a leader in your chosen field and to positively impact on the society in which you live. In addition to flexibility in program choice, student benefits include the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of extracurricular activities during your studies. There are study abroad opportunities to 175 partner universities in 37 countries and access to more than 100 clubs and societies, as well as sports and cultural facilities.
Undergraduate students have the opportunity to apply for the 'UQ Advantage Award', a program that aims to encourage undergraduate students to further develop their skills beyond the classroom and to produce well-rounded, highly sought-after graduates. By participating in the program, you’ll have access to a wide range of activities and training opportunities that can help you to really extend yourself, make the most of your studies, get involved in the community, and prepare for a successful career. www.uq.edu.au/undergraduate/advantage-award
UQ undergraduate students also have the opportunity to participate in the UQ Summer Research Program. This program provides students with an opportunity to engage in formal research projects over the summer semester. By participating in the program, students gain valuable academic and professional skills, develop links with industry and academic contacts, and are able to test drive research before embarking on further research studies or higher degree research projects.
